Yesterday, we were out after I got out from school, and my parents and I were out. My parents had to do some business before we went shopping, and I was just following along. When they were finally done with their stuffs, we walked out of the building. My mom had to gather up some papers on the way out, so she was the last one out. My dad and I had gotten to the car and we were getting in when we heard my mom scream. She had fallen. When people fall, they usually get back up and all is fine, right? When my mom fell, I kinda just stood there in the rain, stunned, waiting for my mom to get up and say "haha, i'm okay" as she brushed herself off, but she didn't get up. She'd lost her purse and lay there hugging her knee. When my dad and I had gotten her into the car, we asked what happened. She said it wasn't that she'd slipped, but that her knees suddenly gave out under her. All of a sudden, she lost control over her knees. Okay, so your knees suddenly feel weird for a moment. Okay. But she kept saying that her knees hurt horribly. We had to cut our shopping trip home and she was in pain all the way home.
Normally, when people fall, I'm okay with it and all. People fall. It's normal. The problem is, this isn't the first time. Last time, she fell and it took a month for her to stop hurting and putting on/eating medication and all. My mom rarely falls, and when she does, she falls hard. Plus, she has been having problems with her legs for a while now. Something about her blood circulation being slow and it can't get back up to her heart, so it kinda pools at her feet. That's why her feet always have problems. This might be a sign of her legs actually signifying a bigger problem that might be irreversible. Plus, she mentioned it wasn't that she had slipped. Her legs had given out under her. That's strange. That has never happened to her, and I don't think I've ever had the same either? At least not to the extent that I fall? My mom is getting old though. And she always does so much for the family. She's almost the pillar of support. She wakes up in the morning and gets everyone ready for the day. She cooks breakfast and drives me to school, and then she has to go to work. She cooks the whole family's meals three times a day seven days a week. She picks me up and drops me off, and worries about us. She does so much. She never gets a day of rest. Recently. work has been really hard on her, and she's probably tired. The rain also gets to her. It's been raining, and it's cold. It gets into her bones and all. She hasn't been sleeping well either. She has her own stuff to worry about, and I haven't been sleeping at normal hours these days, and she wakes up in the middle of the night and checks on me sometimes.
Today, when she was putting this medication on her leg, she said she felt something crunching inside her knee cap. omg. What if something is wrong and maybe she hurt something important? She says she's okay, but she always says that. My mom is strong. My dad keeps playing down her problems, but I think something is wrong. We need to go to the doctor's asap, but I don't have control over my parents. Gah. I really hope my mom is okay.
