Although this article was printed in the NY Times on Feb 8, 1993, before I was even born, I can definitely relate to the thought process in this. Although I read this at 7.40 in the am, in lit class, on a timed test, i totally got drawn in, and read all of it with disregard for time. It was beautiful. In fact, it is still. It is a beautiful piece of work.
